Why is it called "initial franchise fee"?
The phrase "initial franchise fee" is commonly used in the franchising industry. It simply refers to the portion of your total investment which is paid to the franchisor company. DNA Services of America does not charge royalties or any other ongoing service fees, other than the fees for DNA related services.

    What is my total investment?
We recommend that you include in your calculations a minimum of $30,000 in operating capital to begin operations; and, capital for leases, furnishings and equipment, etc. Therefore, you can expect for your total investment to range from $41,650 to $103,900.

What do I get for that investment?
You will receive a license to operate in an exclusive territory as DNA Services of America, extensive training through DNA University’s 4 Day Franchise Orientation Course, two personal two-day marketing orientations, a Business-in-a-Box, and ongoing support in sales and business development, operations and technical guidance.

What is your royalty fee or continuing service fees?
We do not charge a royalty fee. In fact, our franchise program returns bonus payments back to our franchisees. These bonuses are paid to the franchisees each month, dependent upon their sales volumes. There are also no continuing service fees. The only ongoing charges to you are the costs associated with DNA related services in which you provide to your clients.

    How much can I make?
This is the most frequently asked question. The simple answer is that it is all up to you. We must abide by the guidelines and regulations dictated by the Federal Trade Commission ("FTC"). The logic behind their restrictions is sound and is in place for the protection of prospective franchisees from potentially unscrupulous franchisors, which may attempt to provide false information. Further, it is based on the fact that no one can accurately predict success. There are always uncertainties and unknown factors that can affect success. Therefore, the FTC does not allow franchisor companies to estimate or even attempt to predict the success for a prospective franchisee. The FTC does, however, allow franchisors to include actual performance figures of current franchise service centers, within their UFOC's. After reviewing our UFOC, you should have a better appreciation for this business and how our offices perform in their exclusive territories.

Do you help with the financing?
We do not provide direct financing options. We will be happy to provide you with a list of organizations that routinely provide financial assistance to franchisees.

We pride ourselves on our education and training center, DNA University. Each franchisee attends our intensive Franchise Orientation Course, which is outlined on this website. We further provide each franchisee with two on-site marketing orientations, quarterly sales training seminars that are position-specific, bi-monthly "Webinars", newsletters, presentations and we will soon provide online training. These services are available to each Franchisee at a free or minimal charge.

What kind of ongoing support do you provide?
The heart and soul of our franchise program is our support system. We pledge to each franchisee that we will ALWAYS provide continued support in sales and business development, operations and technical guidance. We understand the ongoing needs of our franchisees; and, we understand that the success of our organization will be the result of our efforts to continually support our franchisees.

Can I run this business from my home?
On occasion, we do offer "rural" franchise agreements, which allow franchisees, in extremely rural areas, to provide these services strictly on a mobile basis. However, in population bases greater that 500,000, a physical location must be established. Fortunately, this business does not require much office space. We recommend between 250 and 300 square feet of office space.

Where would I locate my business?
Obviously, you know your town better than we do. There are advantages to locating within a large metropolitan area; and, one whereby your customers can easily locate your office. There are also advantages in being located nearby birthing hospitals and or the legal community. Easy, known access and free parking are important.

    Who is your competition?
There are a few major laboratories that provide services to various markets via phone book advertising and call center case coordination. Our system is extremely unique in that we offer our services in a local community setting. Each franchise will become the DNA expert in their respective territories.

Why would someone use your service rather than that of a competitor?
As mentioned in the previous question, our business model establishes each franchisee as the local expert for DNA testing.
